Sudan is stepping up efforts to transform its digital sector, with Digital Transformation and Communications Minister Ahmed Dardiri Gandour meeting his Chinese counterpart Li Licheng in Addis Ababa during the China–Africa Digital Cooperation Forum.

The discussions highlighted Sudan’s ambition to leverage Chinese know-how in telecom infrastructure, workforce training, and regional projects. Gandour outlined Sudan’s strategy to become a digital hub in East Africa, noting the role of digitalization in improving government services and supporting sustainable economic growth.

Alongside the bilateral meeting, Gandour also engaged with regional and international stakeholders, including the African Telecommunications Union and the UNDP, to push forward cooperative projects in digital transformation.
