Khartoum International Airport has resumed operations after a two-year closure caused by the Sudanese conflict. A Badr Airlines flight’s landing on Wednesday officially reopened the airport, the Civil Aviation Authority announced.

The reopening took place despite RSF drone attacks in the preceding days. The airport administration hailed the event as a turning point for Sudan’s aviation recovery.

Heavily damaged during fighting in April 2023, the airport has undergone extensive repairs since the Sudanese Armed Forces regained control of Khartoum State, as part of a wider plan to restore normal life and services in the capital.
