Khartoum Embarks on Industrial Recovery Study After War Damage

A major study was launched Tuesday in Khartoum to assess the industrial sector and lay the groundwork for recovery after the recent conflict. The event, held at the Ministry of Industry and Trade, brought together Director-General Amin Hassan Abdel-Banat, Dr. Imad Al-Din Khatmi of the Federal Ministry, and several experts.

The ten-day survey will take teams into key industrial zones to evaluate infrastructure damage—particularly to electricity, water, and production facilities—caused by rebel militias. Beyond assessing losses, the study seeks to estimate the financial requirements for rebuilding and chart a path toward quickly restoring industrial activity.

Officials said the study marks an important step in rebuilding Khartoum’s economy and ensuring the rapid return of manufacturing operations.
