Khartoum State Launches Health Campaign to Combat Disease Vectors

Khartoum State launched a major three-month campaign on Saturday to fight disease vectors, covering seven localities, 24 administrative units, and nearly 2,000 neighborhoods. The campaign, dubbed “Continuous Control… for Stable Health,” aims to improve citizens’ health and prevent epidemics.

The initiative was launched under the patronage of Acting Federal Minister of Health, Dr. Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim, with Vice Admiral Ibrahim Jaber Ibrahim and Governor Ahmed Othman Hamza in attendance. Vice Admiral Ibrahim praised the medical “white army” and mobile labs, calling the campaign a reassurance for the public.

Dr. Haitham highlighted that 2,500 staff will participate, supported by the Federal Ministry of Finance, WHO, and IGAD. The program provides essential medical supplies, pesticides, and laboratory vehicles to strengthen disease control efforts.

Governor Hamza commended the health teams’ dedication and emphasized that the campaign represents a key step in Khartoum’s reconstruction and environmental improvement. Dr. Fath Al-Rahman Al-Amin, the state’s Health Director, stressed the campaign’s crucial role in combating epidemics and improving public health.
