Sudan Promises Easier Investment and Major Infrastructure Projects

Sudan’s Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Saif al-Nasr al-Tijani Haroun, said the government is working to improve the investment environment and simplify procedures for both local and foreign investors.

The statement came after a meeting with Sudanese business leaders, attended by Sudan Airways Director General, Captain Mazen al-Awad. The minister said that roads, bridges, railways, and air and river transport projects are government priorities.

Al-Awad highlighted the aviation sector as a key investment opportunity, particularly in air cargo, ground handling, and logistics, and encouraged strategic partnerships using the Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) model. Mohamed al-Nour Sharif of the National Union of Sudanese Entrepreneurs Abroad emphasized the importance of collaboration between government, business, and civil society to develop a modern Sudan.
