At a meeting in Port Sudan, Sovereignty Council member Dr. Salma Abdeljabbar Al-Mubarak pledged government support for international and regional humanitarian organizations, stressing Sudan’s commitment to facilitating aid delivery and eliminating barriers faced by relief teams. She welcomed the contributions of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and called for stronger partnerships to ensure assistance reaches all affected states.
ICRC Head of Mission Daniel O’Malley underscored the crucial role played by Sudanese voluntary organizations and humanitarian workers in responding to the crisis. He said the meeting focused on coordination and joint efforts to improve aid delivery, describing the dialogue with the Sovereignty Council as constructive and a step forward in supporting those impacted by the war.
